We call on social media platforms and U.S. news organizations to represent the Chinese international student group unbiasedly. The Chinese international student group is one of the most productive channels of U.S.-China engagement. They are bridges to connect the two very different worlds, yet most mainstream U.S. news coverage portrays them in a negative light or even overlooks their presence completely. Also, isolated individual cases have been biasedly reported and generalized to distort the overall impression of this group. As a result, Chinese students studying in the U.S. often feel anxious and uneasy due to being caught in political tensions at present. 

Therefore, we urge social media platforms and news outlets impactful in mainstream U.S society to shift their lenses towards the Chinese international student group. This group is trapped in information and algorithmic bias. We call for diverse and comprehensive coverage of this group.
