We are asking the city to address train horns and the unfair noise burden they place on working people’s neighborhoods. Right now, the loud sound carries through some parts of the city every day, while higher class neighborhoods seem to be spared the same disruption. That is not fair, and it is not right for one group of residents to endure this while others do not.
Everyone deserves a peaceful place to live, whether they are in the city or in suburban neighborhoods. Noise should not be one-sided. Fairness means the burden should not fall again and again on the same communities while others are protected from it. For many working citizens, this constant noise affects daily life, rest, and the simple ability to enjoy home.
We are calling for practical action so train noise is treated as a citywide issue, not a problem only certain neighborhoods have to live with. The city should work toward a more equal balance that respects all residents, not just those in the areas with more influence.
This is about basic fairness. No community should be expected to carry the full weight of loud train horns while others are left untouched. We ask the city to take this seriously and make sure noise is addressed evenly across the whole city and its suburban neighborhoods.
To help reduce the noise of train horns in communities. Fairly all over some suburb like alsip trains are silenced why Dolton and Riverdale isn’t it should be fair around the city.
