After seeing the land surrounding my childhood home north of Charleston slowly but surely get swallowed up by windmills... I don't want to see any more of these eye sores built. It was sad to see the township get little to no say in the choice too.

My grandparents and their families before them settled in Shelby County and had farms and homes they built there. I’d hate to see the skyline littered with these hideous wind turbines.

I enjoy driving in the countryside looking at stars at night. I am also a big supporter of conservation! The blinking red lights completely take away any opportunities for stargazing, and it has been proven that wind turbines have affect migratory patterns of birds and Monarch butterflies, as well as killing many species in flight. They do more harm than good. Once they are placed, the land is forever tarnished! Leave our farmland pristine!!!

I grew up in Shelby county and still come home from out of state to visit very regularly. Having lived I Iowa for a time with wind turbines around me, I don’t want any of them being built in anymore of central ILLINOIS, especially Shelby, Christian and Macon counties. STOP THE TURBINES NOW!

When I think of tall structures, bright lights, and noise, I think of the city. We bought our property in the country because we did not want the aforementioned lifestyle. These industrial turbines will destroy our dream and also negatively impact the rural neighbors we have come to love.
