County leaders need to consider whether development of this scale is appropriate for the Ellisboro community and its existing infrastructure. It’s about advocating for responsible growth that considers roads, schools, emergency services, natural resources, farmland, and the rural character that makes this part of Rockingham County special.

I am 92, I’ve lived in my home where the property lines border Dalton Farm. The quality of life that we’ve know, enjoyed and respected for years is under attack. No one is saying no progress, but responsible progress for our home community. Don’t let “your vision plans” be a tall tale of bs, don’t all postage stamp homes be your vision for the county. Don’t destroy the integrity of our communities, our land that has been in the family for 150 years mean nothing.

I am signing this petition because my family and I enjoy living in a rural environment. We enjoy the fresh air and the opportunity to walk out the door and into the woods to hunt. We have never liked seeing houses built side by side so closely that there is very little privacy. We would not want to live like that.

The density of Rockingham county will greatly increase. We will remove the exact reason people enjoy the county and that is because it is RURAL. Summerfield is doing the exact same thing and you can see how up in arms the people there are about it. It’s not wise, and people will retaliate in a very unpleasant manner. You are taking what they hold dear and stripping them of it.

This is where I grew up, my mom & siblings still live on Mineral Springs. My children go to True Gospel Christian School on 704. This has always been farm land & a beautiful rural area where the neighbors know & look after each other. We dont want this area to become overpopulated & unrecognizable. This is why my parents chose to
build their home here because of the spacious land. This small town & rural community can't handle this extreme growth, neither can our roads,schools & grocery store

Heartsick about the degradation to our rural farmland. The influx of development is horrific. There is no infrastructure to accommodate schools, EMS, fire departments, etc. I feel like there has not been a governing entity that actually studied the consequences of all of the developments that are replacing former farms that will ultimately effect the quality of life and land value and sustainability the area. Consider run off, pollution, water supply, sewage, traffic hazards, schools, etc..

The next few years represent the largest transfer of wealth in our country, not just our county. Farmland being sold for development. Once it's gone, it's gone. Think about it long and hard.
