I live in the immediate area of this proposed development and completely OPPOSE this. Such a development is contradictory to the counties own Comprehensive Plan. Keep Rural areas Rural! We don’t want it. If you’re resident of the county you WILL absolutely be affected by this. Your taxes WILL go up across the board, electricity rates up, and property values affected, etc… Voice your opposition to the county board and hold them accountable!

Adding 1,100 new homes to Madison, represents a shift that far outpaces the capacity of our existing town infrastructure. For a community built on quiet roads, localized water systems, and close-knit public services, an influx of thousands of new residents creates immediate strains that will disrupt quality of life for existing homeowners. Clearing this amount of Land drives local species including deer, wild turkeys, and foxes etc. out of their habitat into people’s yards and roads.

We moved to this area for rural life. The 220 gold hill area cannot handle the traffic this will bring. We need lights and intersections as well as other MAJOR infrastructure changes before a significant number of home like this should be built.

The development is out of control!!! Rockingham doesn’t have the infrastructure to support this. Where are the schools?! Where would the children go with this much increase of people.

The traffic would be a nightmare. The turn around u turn spots are dangerous,its hard to get on 220 off side streets now with the traffic. There are hundreds of people who travel these roads from va. Also that aren't even factored into all this. This is country. And we would like to keep a little of that as im sure that's why most people live here. You can't fill every square inch of land with a house or a business without a plan,so what is the plan to accommodate the extra?

We do not have essential infrastructure, public safety, schools, etc. to support this kind of massive concentration of homes in the area. Further, no one wants that kind of growth in that short period of time. It does not fit any comprehensive plan for the Madison/Ellisboro area.

I could say so much more ....NO ..... and for growth we have empty mills and factories that could have new life breathed into them . There's ya growth. The people of Rockingham County is what should matter. Enough is Enough.
