It's important to build responsibly and not force large projects on communities that don't want them and that will end up snuffing out the local cultures by bringing in too many people from other cultures.

As a farmer/landowner/, I am 100% against this tight compounded housing. If you set a 20 acre tract minimum, then that is much more manageable for the community as well as more able to swallow. But this proposal would be absolutely foolish, with no infrastructure to support it. Because other foolish people have made poor decisions, does not mean we should follow!!

We need more farm lands not more houses, this is not Greensboro! We are Rockingham County!! “County” not a city! And we already have developments on 65, and more on Grffin rd in the Bethany community so I think we need to rezone. And if it doesn’t happen, we need to elect people in these positions to stop this from happening in the future. We don’t make land anymore, what’s here is all we got!!

Existing residents will be forced to bear the costs of upgrading infrastructure to support this. Traffic and runoff will impact many and there is currently nothing to support this. I moved to Madison to enjoy rural life. I own land and increasing the population concentration to this magnitude will ruin our way of life.

My family has recently purchased acreage in Rockingham County with the ultimate goal of leaving the urbanization of another NC county. I grew up in what used to be considered a more rural area of our current county, and I have seen the effects of overdevelopment on agriculture, the roadways, the school system, etc. At the very least, a deep dive into the effects of this type of development should be looked at very closely. The current infrastructure in the area CANNOT sustain 2-4 homes per acre.

This is imported to me because I live in Madison and this is a bad idea for our community. I have property on the creek that will be affected and can’t afford the flooding as will eventually come. This is along with all the community concerns of roadways and all infrastructure that will be affected.
