Our city, our county is not prepared to have that many more homes build. Schools, roads, etc would need to improve to bring that many families here. We're a small town and would like to stay that way. We're not greensboro and don't want to be busy and packed like greensboro.

I live in Mayodan, for the developers to build a community of 1100 homes is outrageous. The amount of traffic and congestion it will create not to mention the extra burden on our schools, Fire, police etc we just don’t have the capacity to handle it… I moved to Mayodan from Long Island which many years ago was all potato farms. Today it’s nothing but houses and commercial businesses with lots of traffic… Keep Rockingham Rural..

Farmland was our beginning. When trees come down and land is turned in to houses the air we breathe is changed. I travel that are and I enjoy the country roads because of less traffic than the highway has. Ellisboro Rd and the intersection at Sardis Church is already impacted from traffic. Someone needs to look at the big picture for two years from now, take off your dollar sign glasses.

Have friends and family in the area. Need to maintain farm area to survive. Do not need that many houses that close together and creating problems for people who have lived their entire lives in this community.

Development needs to be done in a responsible way. We chose a house in town but it isn’t crammed closely to the neighboring houses. Set backs and distances from neighboring houses matter. Traffic flow matters. Water and sewer matter. Develop something people can truly be proud of when they purchase it.

Please help us preserve the character of rural Rockingham county instead of steering our county towards becoming a bedroom community for Greensboro. I own property that boarders the proposed development and I oppose the project.

I am concerned about the impact on a county that already struggles to provide for the residents it already has and the impact this will have on Emergency Services. Have they considered that the majority of fire departments in this country are volunteer and these departments are struggling to keep enough members? Or have they considered that the county runs out of EMS units daily?

We moved here because RC was rural community. We don't need anymore Track builder neighbhoods with cookie cutter homes added to our schools, roads, and stores.We already have enough of those popping up everywhere. It's way too much!!
