There is currently a large organization looking to turn a wooded area into a neighborhood. This could harm the ecosystem in the area, and people are not pleased with the proposition of an over crowded neighborhood. The wooded area has not been touched in over 20 years, and it is home to a large range of species. There are hawks nested out there that are considered to be protected, I have seen an alligator snapping turtle out there which those are a threatened species, and it’s home to many owls that rely on the exact ecosystem this wooded area provides. These woods mean so much to the people of our neighborhood. It’s where many of us learned how to shoot, to hunt, and to appreciate the land. It was also the reason many people moved out here, for the peace and quiet our surroundings provided for us. We’re not only worried about our peace and the animals, but another concern is a possible raise in property taxes. There are lots of people out here who are barely scraping by. The last thing the people of my community need is another raised bill.
Imagine no more Hawks no more eagles no more owls no more wildlife or the humming music of the tree frogs in the evening after a good rain or the cries of the coyotes in the distance . That's just not a world that I want to live in
