I have a unit on the Esplanade which we use to have a break but the road noise from hooning ruins any quality time. Perhaps some serious speed bumps may help

It is completely obvious that the rapid acceleration/ deceleration around the traffic lights is none other than for the personal enjoyment of the driver of the vehicle and gives way to any other person quietly and responsibly enjoying the precinct. From pedestrians and hotel guests visiting the area to long suffering residents having the private space consistently invaded by screaming engines and exhaust pipes, the rapid speed is an enormous safety risk to young and old.

The Mooloolaba Esplanade between Venning Street and Buderim Avenue is treated like a racetrack by cars and motor bikes, accelerating to either get in front of another car before it becomes a single lane or to

Constant and relentless road noise - you can’t leave the doors open as it is invasive.
This also impacts resale value of my property - the noise and amount of traffic is a detractor.
Hard to sleep without ear plugs and turning on the AC unit all year round to tune out the noise

As a resident of Melbourne we love visiting Moolooaba during winter. We love where we stay,we love the people,we love the clubs but what we dodn't like are the hoons that seem to believe that Venning St and surrounds are their own race track.A very enjoyable evening sitting on the balcony can quickly be destroyed by a car or motor bike that seems to have no muffler. This constant interruption to daily life must be stopped.

I live on the Esplanade between Buderim Avenue and Venning Street and the noise level has increased over the past several years even though the speed limit has reduced. Motorcycles and hooning cars dont seem to adhere to this.

I have been concerned and bothered by the increased noise level of traffic in recent months. My sleep is disturbed on a nightly basis and I have concerns for the safety of pedestrians and other drivers. This can only negatively affect the local businesses if not addressed as soon as possible.

The noise from speeding/hooning cars and motorcycles is getting ridiculous.
