We are asking our leaders and neighbors to stop the data center invasion in Columbia County and protect the land, homes, and future of the people who live here.
Data centers are taking over Columbia County, and with them come massive power needs, huge power lines, and more pressure on local land. I recently got notified about a project to add those huge 100-foot power lines right through my neighbor’s and my yard. That is not fair to the people who have built their lives here and now have no real way to stop it.
This is my childhood home, and my family have put years of effort into living comfortably here. My neighbors just moved here and now they are being kicked aside. They bought that property for the beautiful agricultural land and open space. This land is not just property on a map. It is part of our lives, our memories, and the future we hope to pass on to the next generations. Families should not have to watch their land be carved up for outside projects that do not respect the community.
Columbia County is under attack from big energy corporations, and we are already seeing thousands of acres destroyed to make way for solar panels. That kind of loss changes the character of the county for good.
We are calling on decision-makers to reject projects that sacrifice our neighborhoods, our farmland, and our future for the sake of data centers and their power demands. Help us reclaim our county and protect our land before more of it is taken away.
To stop the data center invasion in Columbia County and protect the land, homes, and future of the people who live here!!!
