To the Archbald Borough Council
We, the undersigned residents and stakeholders of Archbald Borough, formally oppose the proposed construction of Data Centers in our community.
Main Concerns
- Environmental Risks: The project threatens local water sources and ecosystems. With plans for large-scale water use, well drilling, and fuel storage, it poses a real risk of contamination and depletion of vital resources.
- Loss of Green Space: The new development would destroy natural landscapes, forests, and habitats, replacing them with industrial buildings and infrastructure that fundamentally alter our rural and residential character.
- Noise, Light, and Air Pollution: 24/7 operations mean constant noise, bright lighting, and potential emissions, severely affecting the peace and health of our neighborhoods.
- Community Disruption: Increased traffic, reduced property values, and the loss of local identity undermine the fabric of our community.
- Lack of Transparency: The development has proceeded with minimal public disclosure and limited opportunity for community input. Key environmental and safety details remain undisclosed.
Our Requests
- Reject all permits, rezoning, and approvals for this data center project.
- Preserve the land for future, environmentally compatible uses aligned with community values.
- Enact stronger protections to prevent industrial development in sensitive, residential, or protected zones.
- Ensure full transparency and community involvement in all major planning decisions.
We urge local officials to put community health, safety, and sustainability first. Sign this petition to protect Archbald Borough from the negative consequences of unnecessary and risky industrial expansion.
As a property owner in Eynon, I am against the data center anywhere near our living spaces. There is plenty of acreage in the enormous state that won’t interfere with living in safety and peace. Please take advantage of those areas and protect our residents.
