starlink is a real safety equipment and has become almost the only way to get grib files during ocean passages. But for those who use starlink just for grib files during ocean passages, it has become too expensive. The increase of price creates a real problem of safety.

As full-time liveaboards with a modest budget Starlink has been a gamechanger regarding weather updates, contact with local authorities, etc. The price of 100 USD was higer than using simcards, but because of the advantages of higher speed and accessibility farther away from land, we found it worth the money.
Paying per GB on the ocean was already unreasonable, why pay extra since it doesn't matter where you use it. I don't pay extra in the middle of the Australian outback.....
