We ask everyone in our workplace to stop using speakerphone for calls in shared areas and to help make the office a more respectful place to work.

When phone calls are played out loud, they are extremely distracting, annoying, frustrating, and not at all conducive to a work environment. It breaks focus, makes it harder to complete tasks, and adds noise to spaces where people need to think, talk, and work without interruption. Even short calls can spread across a room and affect everyone nearby.

A workplace should be a place where people can concentrate, communicate clearly, and do their best work. Constant speakerphone use gets in the way of that. It creates unnecessary stress for coworkers and makes it harder to maintain a calm and professional setting.

We are asking for a simple change: keep phone calls private, use headphones when needed, or step away to take calls in a quieter area. This is a small courtesy, but it makes a real difference for the people around you.

Let’s respect one another’s time and attention. A quieter workplace is better for everyone.

Some people fear public speaking; just because you don't doesn't mean the rest of us should have to suffer. Therefore, I hereby affirm that speakerphone use in shared workspaces shall be BANNED!

This is a character-building act of courtesy. Not everyone needs to know each other's business or needs to be part of the call. Those who continue to use speaker should expect tasteful mocking during the call.

Whosoever doth wield the speakerphone within the common workplace, and thereby inflicteth the voices of strangers upon unwilling ears hath committed an offense most vile against peace, order, and good manners For this transgression, let the offender be brought before the gathered multitude, whereupon the herald shall proclaim: "This knave possessèd headphones, yet usèd them not" Thereafter shall sentence be rendered: death by the axe. Thus decreeth the Kingdom of quiet "Be silent or be silenced"
