This is a petition to allow the use of music through headphones in the workplace.
Music allows employees to focus on work and takes away from other distractions in the office environment allowing for higher rates of productivity as well as increasing general happiness.
As music played openly may affect employees working on the phones, this new headphones only policy will allow the maximum productivity at no cost to customer experience or quality of work.
Work flow will not be affected within a pod in regards to communication as majority of contact is done through Google Chat. This platform is not only quick and effective, it also maintains pod volume. This is greatly appreciated by phone staff.
Naturally rules will need to be set in place to ensure this privilege is not abused nor affect employees working on phone shifts.

Dozens of colleagues have reached out to share similar frustrations about the current environment. I am currently drafting a formal proposal based on these suggestions to bring to management.

The momentum is undeniable now. Management cannot ignore this level of interest for much longer.

I think music is beneficial. People on phones obviously have to take calls, if they didn't take calls they just wouldn't be doing their job. That's no reason to say they can't have music in between. Agreed. Headphones helped to reduce small distractions not associated with work tasks. Music should not be loud enough so that you are unable to hear your surroundings, therefore this should not affect staff interactions when required.

Personally i'm a big fan of 50 keyboards tapping away, the ping pong scream show and the soothing sounds of construction. It's like a Pokemon battle in here...POWERDRILL...I CHOOSE YOOU!!!... Please....headphones would be nice
