It’s common sense, yes you only need fire service when there is an emergency but if it’s you in the emergency then thank God they are there

I oppose local / community Fire Station closures as you cannot call reduction in response times and detrimental service provision " modernisation " .
Poor word rinse from chief officers and politicians .
On the subject of costs , there is always extra cash available at council and national levels for whatever is deemed a requirement by those holding the purse strings .

Scandalous cuts to sell the land for more private housing. Everyone makes money but the local people suffer due to a reduced service with a full minute minimum added to the fire engine arriving from Cowcaddens. Lets hope that minute isn’t a minute between life and death as that is what this closure really mean for the people of Yorkhill and Anderston.

No doubt after someone's parents, siblings and children die in a fire they will point out that they get free prescriptions.

At a time when there is more student accommodation and private dwellings being built it is complete madness to reduce fire cover for this area.

We stay in a block of flat.. last year there was a fire in one of our block. Luckily the fire service came on time and is only the floor above and the floor below that is affected. If the fire service is further afield the damaged could have been substantial and might even cost life.

I am a retired Firefighter,and the way the Brigade is being cut, now, is a disaster waiting to happen. Yes there are fewer fires, but large fires will always occur and if the resourses are not there, lives will be lost.
