Any reduction in fire cover, any deliberate increase in response time, any closures of fire stations puts the public at increased risk. Predictive computer modelling is all very well, but the statisticians won't be putting on breathing apparatus to save lifes.

If this fire station were to close, it could prove to be catastrophic for the community if there was a house fire or a fire in a business premises. E.G. there are lots of homes above retail premises in this part of Glasgow and time would be of the essence if a shop went on fire- lives could be lost! Please Do Not Close This Fire Station!

It’s where I grew up and still have friends in the Area. Please save the Fire Station - maybe you could also try to implement a Volunteer program where locals could be involved and be taught how to help run things?

Lived in this area years ago and now that there is so many student flats I think the need for the station is even stronger

Public services being slashed endangering lives while speculators buy up our city for student housing for diminishing student numbers. What is going on?

If they close it they will not get a footprint in that part of the city again. With all the students accommodation going up and the major events venues adjacent it's madness and just about money.

I’m a retired Firefighter and I know the importance of this fire station, close this station and you loose fire coverage for a large area of the west end.

Terrible to think of not having a local fire station in Yorkhill closing as it’s close to Anderston, partick if there is a fire in these areas there no need to close this and put lives at risk is disgraceful

I worked in Yorkhill F.S. for 11 years until I Retired in 2011 & I'm absolutely Horrified that this vital station is being Closed! It makes No Sense to close it as it's Essential for Fire Cover in a Heavy Populated Area!
