In the light of major previous fires in glasgow in makes no sense to limit the response times and also the road network for engines attending room other stations eg govan attending Clyde tunnel shut due to accident breakdown etc

This fire station serves an area which has seen literally THOUSANDS of new houses already built or granted planning permission over the last three or four years. Additionally it is close to Glasgow University, The Hydro and the SEC. If anything, the fire brigade provision in this area should be being INCREASED rather than reduced.

I am a Committee Member of the Hot House Owners Association elected by the 50 residential and two commercial Owners of our eight storey multi/occupant building. We are aware of dangerous fire stopping issues in our building that we are in the process of addressing, although we shall not be able to do this fully due to individual ownership issues. Every day our lives are at risk. We’ve had four boiler fires, gas leaks, people accidentally leaving gas turned on, and religious candle fires.

I live in the area. Look at all these highrise student flats that are being built. Look at all the devastating fires Glasgow seems to be prone to. We need more fire protection now more than ever, not less.
