This beautiful view of the Heads and Harbour is enjoyed every day by the public including thousands stopping to take photos every year. They come to look out, to share the view with family and friends, and to enjoy a place that belongs to the wider community.

This view is at risk of being LOST FOREVER due to a 30M HIGH development proposed for 48-50 Almora Street.

Please sign this petition if you believe this beautiful view should be protected from overdevelopment and kept for everyone to enjoy in the future.

(The photo above was taken in 1904 and is the oldest surviving colour photo taken in Australia).

I see this amazing view every Sunday as I end my long Sunday run down Almora Steet. I pinch myself how beautiful the view is out the heads. I genuinely look forward to it. It makes me smile. The view is iconic! Given this, please, please do the right thing and treat this site (and Balmoral slopes) as an ‘exception’ so it’s protected for future generations to enjoy.

Once again the developers are dictating to government where they want to build and what they want to build. Judging by all the local high rise planned a priority seems to be water views. But these are only water views for the few who live in these expensive LUXURY apartments. Water views should be for all who walk the streets and all Sydney residents who come here to visit the beach and many to look at the beautiful old homes. This new planning initiative has little to do with affordable homes

It is completely out of character and will ruin the village. Mosman council has ignored their responsibility and provided 2 completely inappropriate purported solutions to the out lem… what happened to common sense and approving smaller more sympathetic 2/3 storey solutions? Ridiculous and shows complete lack of undertaking of the environment, stresses on infrastructure and community needs.

I strongly object to the proposed 30-metre high-rise development in this Mosman residential area. A building of this scale is completely out of character with the surrounding streetscape and would set a damaging precedent for overdevelopment in a low-rise residential neighbourhood. Mosman’s appeal lies in its human-scale village atmosphere, established homes, mature trees, harbour setting, and careful balance between density and amenity.

The NSW state govt has to stop working for developers who are only building wealthy, ugly, apartments. This is not about building needed homes, there will be less homes the way it is going. This view should stay for the public, the neighbours, people visiting the area - not for the few people wealthy enough to buy these apartments. The State govt needs to start working for the people, not just the developers.

the proposal is completely out of scale for the area and would set a devastating precedent. the state governments approach is a one-size-fits-all and is leading to a money-grab by developers who only see ways to maximise profits and not the desired increase in affordable housing. the approach by developers so far, with the proposals in play at the moment, on the balmoral slopes and other places, is mindboggling for its cyncial approach to what is 'affordable' in this context. disgusting.

As I have lived in Earl Street for over 30 years, lived in Mosman for most of my life seen many changes this last Master Plan will destroy the Mosman I grew up making just another suburb with no character, no personality and no history.
