The only need in Somerset is for council housing, and affordable, smaller properties that are ecologically cheap to run for those on lower incomes. If these were to be built in small quantities with an existing Rural communities and infill building within existing towns with ease of access to amenities instead of profit driven 3, 4 & 5 bedroom properties, this would fulfil the housing crisis that this country currently suffers. Look on sites like right move. So many family size homes available!!

This would lead to further loss of wildlife and natural beauty. So much has already been lost to poorly built overpriced estates. The water systems etc are already struggling to cope with all the extra load. Some places should be left alone and this is one of them.
