This is a beautiful rural area and there has already been a huge amount of house building in the Taunton area over the last 10 years. Developers should be building on brownfield sites before destroying our farmland and countryside.

I live next to the racecourse and the ammount of wildlife we have here is incredible, barn owls, bats, shrew, humming bird moths, deer, buzzards...the list goes on. These will all be removed from this area of outstanding natural beauty by an area of unnatural drudgery causing infrastructure stress to a quiet area with difficult access. Gone will be the dark skies and the run off of water from such a large concrete development will be devastating. Loss of farmland that we won't get back.

Productive farmland can never be recovered once lost to development. Literally in our back garden, barn owls, bats, birds, dormice and so many more species will all be displaced. The flooding is already devastating as run off from the fields, imagine how much worse it will be once paved over. Brownfields sites are available for development with amenities and infrastructure in place. Our precious AONB should be preserved, they are outstanding for a reason.

No new builds should be built on the footings of the Blackdown Hills, especially when new builds have yet to be built and sold in Taunton.

To build on this beautiful productive farmland is unnecessary when there are brownfield sites that could be developed. This is a special and important landscape bordered by important woodland with sssi and oanb status. The authorities said they would never build in this way east of the M5, yet again they lie.
