This development is within 2km of an AONB, encroaches on ancient woodland, and would create a town in an area that is currently agricultural land, and no relevant infrastructure

The housing development proposed would alter the whole character of the Blackdown Vale and destroy many acres of fertile agricultural land . The infrastructure of Taunton would not be able to cope with so much additional traffic and so many more people .
Please sign this petition to help preserve this beautiful area.

Stop concreting and tarmacing over our countryside. No matter how 'enviromentally friendly' you pretend these developments are, they'll never replace the beautiful countryside you're destroying and never replace the habitat of the animals you're driving out.
Will you ever listen? Of course not!

Far too many houses on our delightful countryside. More imaginative solutions need to be thought of. Our towns services; doctors, dentists, schools and social services haven’t enough money to cope with a development that is as big as a town!

This is important productive farmland. Building a settlement of this size to the south of the motorway is ridiculous. It will totally ruin not just this area, but the surrounding villages and countryside.

The proposed development will be an environmental catastrophe. Taunton does not have the infrastructure to increase in size to this extent. Develop brownfield sites first, and improve the quality of people's lives!

Brown field sites have to be the way to go now.
Also, I don't believe the developers would put enough support service in place - GP Surgeries, Schools, community hubs etc.
Nature. It's a gorgeous area. I don't want it paved over
Finally, the mess. A development of this size will take 2-3 years to complete. During that time it will be a building site.

This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and one of the only places people in Taunton can go to for cycling walking lovely villages etc ...please don't destroy yet another area of beautiful countryside around Taunton with a mass development. A new town surely needs to go somewhere at least 15-20 miles away from another major town. Otherwise you just create chaos, loads of traffic and people wonder why and how it was allowed to happen. Please don't make an awful, poor decision.

We want to use our farm and produce our own food. You keep building on farm land we will still end up buying food from other countries. Use the houses that are derelict and make them into houses first

I am signing this position due to the over population of Taunton. Not only will it be horrendous to see all this greenbelt land taken away but the infrastructure can't take it. The town traffic barely moves on a good day and as a delivery driver it is a nightmare. Added pollution to the environment due to idle engines, road surfaces becoming hazardous due to increased traffic and the massive loss of wildlife habitat. This development must not happen.
