There are already hundreds of new homes being built around Taunton. This proposal will severely impact an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

I live in this ANOB which is full of ancient sites and woodland, bluebell woods etc as well as farmland. The infrastructure is not there to support 7000 homes eg doctors, schools, teachers, shops

The area is an important one for wildlife abd agriculture. Both these would be negatively affected by these huge development. It is also an area that does not have the infrastructure to cope with any more pressure from traffic or people. It is being built purely for profit and will have a devastating affect on all who currently live here.

Despicable from start to finish. Paid for agricultural land said they won't hold on it, hah! Millions of profit to be had if it's developed with no meaningful tax to pay. Also destroying an area of outstanding natural beauty used by many residents. We cannot allow the stripping of rural landscapes by greedy developers.

Shocking proposal - totally ruin the character of the area, the characteristic views from and to the Blackdown Hills, encroaching on the AOONB, building on a number of SSSI’s and eating up the farmland and hamlets east of Taunton.

Ruin the natural green spaces that enjoyed by all including Thurlbear School and so many brown sites in Taunton and houses in the town that aren’t selling that need a council or home developers to make them up to today’s standards and be making use of much needed space in the centre of Taunton . The infrastructure in Blackdown vale area is not suitable for development and it floods terribly at the best of times.

A residential site of this size will stretch local facilities well beyond breaking point, and the proposed site will cut off ancient woodlands, isolate natural sites and encroach on an area of natural beauty, all of which are crucial to the local environment and local way of life.

I live locally and the area does not have the infrastructure to cope with more housing. The traffic is awful with crashes almost daily on the M5 causing major tailbacks in the surrounding villages and towns.

9,000 houses in a flood plain and no infrastructure. Most homes these days have 2 cars per home so 18,000 extra cars trying to get through the tiny villages

Because it is next door to my house of 20yrs. It’s countryside that should never have been sold by the crown estate to a developer. It is farmland and surrounding areas are AONB . It is woodland, fields. Taunton does not need any more housing. There are never new schools or medical centres proposed with these ridiculous planning applications. Taunton does not have the infrastructure. This is an absurd number of houses. This land must remain farmland. We are going to need to farm more food.

Very important not just for me who lives in the area but for the farmers and all the wildlife which will dissapear never to come back. This is a wonderful area of natural beauty, we do NOT need 9000 houses and a new town.
