Absolutely disgraceful and disgusting how, once again, our government and council seem to believe that destruction and vandalism of our precious countryside is an essential thing for 'progress'. There will be consequences beyond anything they can possibly imagine, but hey, at least they're richer.

Taunton and Wellington have already been over developed, with no proper infrastructure put in place.
This is good agricultural land, plus it would truly spoil what little countryside we have now!

This is truly unacceptable development so close to the Blackdown Hills AONB. On a practical level this will need more car usage further degrading the environment. Also, Taunton does not have the hospital capacity to deal with this increase in population.

There is already multiple building
developments around Taunton many
of which are still in the process of being built. The Town does not have the infrastructure to accomadte these developments let alone a further 8000 home s that is proposed.
The road system to this area is inadequate from either the town or the motorway.
The area also forms the green belt to the South of Taunton and in an AONB and good agricultural land.

We have seen beautiful areas of Britain disappear and be spoilt by housing - please don't let another area of beautiful Britain be tainted by more housing. 7000 houses will be a massive blot on the Somerset landscape. What has been and will be done to mitigate the effect that having so many houses built here will have on Taunton and the surrounding areas?

We do not need or want this area turned into more houses, etc; or a so called town. I want to enjoy the area just as it is & always has been in my lifetime. There is property developments all around Taunton at the moment going on - enough is enough! 🙏PLEASE STOP🙏

We need ro build on brown field sites like Firepool and Tangier before taking away farmland and ANOB. There are already sites around Taunton in Staplegrove and Comrytwowe which are not finished. There have to be better provision for infrastructure. Schools, medical provision, flood mitigation. Social housing.

Definitely too large. The infrastructure of roads and schools need to be sorted in the Taunton area before such a large development is even considered.

Living locally and seeing how Taunton and Wellington are already struggling with new houses and hugely increased population numbers, the size of this development seems insane. Destroying agricultural land and countryside, and pushing the infrastructure to full breaking point. The developers and planners for this application should simply be ashamed that clearly their only thought here is making money with zero consideration for anything or anyone else.

We already have thousands of new houses built on beautiful green fields around Taunton. They haven’t all sold. Where is the infrastructure? New GP surgeries, secondary schools etc. Better to find brown field sites than ruin our beautiful countryside!
