We need ro build on brown field sites like Firepool and Tangier before taking away farmland and ANOB. There are already sites around Taunton in Staplegrove and Comrytwowe which are not finished. There have to be better provision for infrastructure. Schools, medical provision, flood mitigation. Social housing.

Definitely too large. The infrastructure of roads and schools need to be sorted in the Taunton area before such a large development is even considered.

Living locally and seeing how Taunton and Wellington are already struggling with new houses and hugely increased population numbers, the size of this development seems insane. Destroying agricultural land and countryside, and pushing the infrastructure to full breaking point. The developers and planners for this application should simply be ashamed that clearly their only thought here is making money with zero consideration for anything or anyone else.

We already have thousands of new houses built on beautiful green fields around Taunton. They haven’t all sold. Where is the infrastructure? New GP surgeries, secondary schools etc. Better to find brown field sites than ruin our beautiful countryside!

Taunton has received its fair share of housing in recent years in my opinion. Along with the north taunton development commencing in staplegrove, expansion of the kilams estate and more proposed development around the bathpool area, just to name a few. I do not think this proposed housing around the orchard Portman/stoke st Mary is nessessary.

These developments are unsustainable and destroy local communities. This is another 15,000 people who will all want and need local services that are already stretched and many are already over capacity. The developers will promise the delivery of affordable and social housing as part of the planning application, a promise that will not be met. The fees paid for the NHS and schooling will not be anywhere near enough. The government wants a housing supply but do not provide provision.It's madness!

This scale of housing development is completely out of proportion with resources and infrastructure locally. There is not a need gif this many new houses here - surely the only buyers would be retired people or commuters, so no benefit to local economy?

I live in the heart of the village of SSM and the plans will ruin my views I’ve had for years. The local school is over subscribed for local village children. No way you can build all the drainage for 7000 homes when we struggle already
