So many reasons. Greenfield sites should not be built on when there are so many brownfield sites that are neglected. No plans for supportive infrastructure and already failing public services locally. What will the people that live here do? There are few jobs and high rates of unemployment in the town already. Too many large scale greenfield developments already going ahead in Taunton. It wasn’t that long ago that Taunton won garden town status. What has that created?!!!!!!! Firepool?

Like many towns adjacent to motorways Taunton has has always taken the M5 as a boundary between town and countryside. Taunton already has multiple developments taking place Orchard Grove Staple Grove and north of Kingston Road ...There is no new employment in the area ..we don't need more houses and certainly not on prime agricultural land

We must preserve this green area, the gateway to the Blackdown Hills. It’s a massive development and despite promises it will not blend in and will be an eyesore. Once we lose that green area it’s gone for good.

This is truly unacceptable development so close to the Blackdown Hills AONB. On a practical level this will need more car usage further degrading the environment. Also, Taunton does not have the hospital capacity to deal with this increase in population.

There is already multiple building
developments around Taunton many
of which are still in the process of being built. The Town does not have the infrastructure to accomadte these developments let alone a further 8000 home s that is proposed.
The road system to this area is inadequate from either the town or the motorway.
The area also forms the green belt to the South of Taunton and in an AONB and good agricultural land.

We have seen beautiful areas of Britain disappear and be spoilt by housing - please don't let another area of beautiful Britain be tainted by more housing. 7000 houses will be a massive blot on the Somerset landscape. What has been and will be done to mitigate the effect that having so many houses built here will have on Taunton and the surrounding areas?
