Regenerate freilich buildings/areas first please. It’s ridiculous to build here where there are areas of every town with wastelands. Many of us grew up believing the green belt was protected, but that clearly isn’t the case anymore. Once these natural spaces are gone, they’re gone for good. Our wildlife depends on them, and it’s up to us to speak up and protect their homes. Please support stronger protection for our green spaces and push for redevelopment where land has already been damaged.

Blackdown Vale is a precious home for wildlife and people alike. Building houses would replace nature with concrete, destroy habitats, and erase its peaceful beauty forever. We have recently moved to the area and love it because it is quiet, full of wildlife and with relatively minimal traffic through the Blackdown Hills. With this ridiculous volume of additional housing planned, the local impacts will spoil the tranquility and the importance of the hills forever.

We have nearly 1.5 million empty homes in England and Wales (ONS) and there are brownfield sites capable of accommodating a further 1.4 million new build homes (CPRE). There is no need for housing on greenfield sites.
