I walk here and drive through to get to Taunton. The countryside is wonderful and special with many species. The roads are small and country roads not fit for big development.

Its an area of outstanding beauty that needs to remain at the foot of the Black down Hills. It's ludicrous to even consider demolishing the countryside for 7k+ of homes. The roads are already struggling with all the present traffic, the infrastructure is not in place to cope with this! The Drs can't been seen now, Dentists, schools, already struggling with the increased population from all the recent new builds It's time to stand up to protect the wildlife & the remaining countryside thats left

Taylor Wimpey’s plan for a new town of ~7,000 homes around Thurlbear, Corfe, Stoke St Mary & Orchard Portman is ridiculous. Thousands of houses have already been built near Taunton in the last 5-10 years. This will destroy best agricultural land, ruin beautiful countryside & displace wildlife including tawny owls, herons, woodpeckers, foxes, badgers, roe deer, buzzards & red kites. Reject this plan – protect our farmland, countryside & wildlife.

The idea of losing this beautiful landscape forever for building of such scale is pure madness. Living in the area, the wildlife that lives here is quite something to witness, what happens to them all when their natural habitat is destroyed forever? There are plenty of brownfield sites more suitable that Taylor Wimpey could utilise to achieve their targets and those of the council, without losing our precious green areas. It beggars belief that anyone would even propose such a plan.

The infrastructure for Taunton is already under great strain. Building on green spaces and agricultural land is not ecologically sustainable. More houses will cause more congestion on the roads and put a greater strain on public services.
