This is a huge project. It impacts many people. It destroys trees. The board must fully inform the community first, and the project is of such huge magnitude that I believe a community-wide vote is both legally and ethically required.

At the meeting we learned a Board member is lobbying other members hard not to select Burney Rd. If WP Conservancy is selected, property values will instantly fall on Sea Marsh & the N side of WP Road (their backyards!). Omni GM on the Board, & no deal can be worked out with him--when Omni has all of the vacant former Ocean Links land? Unbelievable that neighbors would do this to other neighbors. We thought the AIPCA ("A community in harmony with nature") was better than this.

The placement of a maintenance shed in a residential area goes against every principle of why this community was established. And while the Board seems to think that this will only impact a few residences, and they must make a decision for the "greater good", this decision will set a dangerous precedent that has the potential to impact every homeowner in this community.

There has been a lack of transparency on this issue and I suggest a "do over" to clarify the options and wait for many residents who are away for the summer to return and focus on the issue.

Environmental, security, safety, zoning, are just a few reasons why these sites should not even be on your radar. There are other off site faculties that could be used. We need to do better.

I moved here for the canopy and it increases the value of properties. Tearing down forest when there are clearly other options is ridiculous.

We need to explore more options.
One proposed site is an arboretum & one site is a conservancy. Offices do not need to be right next to storage. Renting the garages & offices available on AIA is one good option. The 2 nd floor of The Oaks has a nice conference room for meetings. We also have Walkers L.
I understand what we have been using is owned by Omni & they need the space.

Postpone the vote.
If we need a new facility then obtain community input and communicate all the viable options. There are numerous other areas where the AIPCA needs to focus which are in dire need of money and attention. We can’t even get gates to work consistently. Who knew lightning was a thing in Florida?

In an effort of full disclosure and transparency each board member should be asked a very simple question pertaining to this matter…”would you want this facility in your back yard?”. I simply can’t fathom that a single response would be in favor of this taking place in a location that would impact their day to day life. So one would then have to wonder why it would be acceptable to make such a decision that would impact so many others in a negative manner. As the saying goes, do onto others…
