I have made so many lifelong friends playing Pickleball in Belfast. The opportunity Pickleball provides for all people to get exercise, make new friends, have fun and socialize is so important. Please keep the courts open while a more permanent solution can be found.

"Belfast City Park" is clear in meaning. The Park should welcome all people who enjoy it respectfully, and accommodate all activities consistent with its facilities, from picnicking to tennis, baseball, basketball and swimming - and obviously, pickleball.

It’s a great way to meet people and get exercise outside and socialize with other while having fun. Plus it’s a nice place to play with shade trees on those hot sunny days.

I have played there. These are excellent courts in a lovely park and have a large group of players who have been playing there for many years. The benefit for many should not be removed at the whim of a couple of people with money.

I was part of the group of pickleballers who raised a lot of money to build the courts at City Park and we were proud to work with the city to make this happen. It has provided a glorious place to play that is accessible to all players free of charge. Some of the things that make it special are trees for shade, the breeze off the water, parking, lawn for sitting, and the public bathrooms. I believe pickleball has reinvigorated City Park and I would be sad to see the courts there no longer in use

It’s not only about pickleball, but also about networking, learning about social needs in the neighborhood and how to participate in helping. I have met so many great people that introduced me other causes. Still, love pickleball and the city park.

I visited the beautiful Belfast for the first time just a few weeks ago. The pickle balling community was essential to the town. And I picked up on that very fast! I would hate to see this taken away…. Would definitely not go back. 😞
