Pickleball keeps Belfast active and connected across all ages. The courts at city park are one of our town’s best public spaces for recreation, and a piece of our community will be lost if these spaces are closed.

The Belfast Pickleball community welcomes all ages and ability levels. Members volunteer their time to teach newcomers skills and model good sportsmanship with no expectation of anything except a clean game in return. I'm grateful for how I have been treated by this group and my husband has enjoyed countless games with many, many pickleball friends over the past 5 years. Please don't interrupt the club's fitness and social routines without a solution that is play ready.

Getting exercise outdoors with other community members is a necessary part of my health promotion and well-being. Pickleball is affordable, moderate exercise which builds community.

It’s a healthy seasonal sport. My understanding is that it was purchased by the players. The complainers bought a home knowing that it was next to a park!

The pickleball court is one of the most socially active places in the city, and brings energy to the park during the summer. I understand noise sensitivities, but establishing a precedent where one new resident can uproot an established activity (especially when the annoyance is owed to a lack of research on their part before moving into a neighborhood) is not one we should set.

The PB Community is a huge part of what makes Belfast Belfast! We r an important part of the many smaller communities within the whole.

A park is a place for play for people to get together laugh yell run and engage in Wellness activity. The stakeholders in this community have spoken, and one neighbor does not dictate how a public space is used. Additionally, one person should not be able to litter a public park and harass its users.

One of the most beneficial ways for seniors to live longer and stay healthy is to interact with others. Removing an excellent free of charge opportunity to do that seems shortsighted. Provide an alternative location to play before prohibiting play at the park.

I have met so many friends through Belfast pickleball, including folks from away who come to Belfast specifically to play here in the park. (We met a woman in North Carolina who said her nephew makes a trip up here every year just to play here.) It is a special place for sure!

The Belfast pickleball courts are important to me as a young player. They provide a safe place to stay active, improve my skills, and connect with others in the community. Keeping these courts available helps support local youth and encourages healthy, positive recreation for everyone.

When I first learned to play pickleball they were just expanding the belfast pickleball course from sharing a basketball cout to 4 courts. Many people were involved in raising money and donating it for the construction of the 4 courts. It is a great community activity. They have provided many people great joy and socialization. It would be a shame to lose the ability to play pickleball at the park.
