I live in Sheethanger lane and my son is disabled who uses the back gate for direct access onto the platform. It was one of the reasons why we bought the house with its easy walk to the station! The alternative route you are suggesting means a much longer walk for him, along an incredibly busy road under a dangerous bridge with single file access! Who on earth suggested this closure?! We are forever being told by Dacorum to walk and not take the car to cut down traffic and help the environment!

The closure of the Roughdown avenue entrance will definitely cause complete disruption for family as my wife and son use the entrance daily, often at six am . The proposed route is not only pitch black in winter and unsafe, as well not containing a full and safe pavement to walk on running under the bridge. There has been no period of consultation which would of indeed high lighted all these very real issues.

Your suggested walking route is absolutely ridiculous and very unsafe! There is not a footpath on that side of the London Road, which means I will be dicing with death trying to cross it and as a woman on my own I would not feel safe walking that route at night.

I am signing because the alternative route is unsafe. It is poorly lit, isolated, and I do not feel safe using it, especially as a woman in winter. We bought our home because of the safe station access. I am also a childminder and regularly use this entrance with young children and a buggy. Closing it reduces safe access and raises concerns about emergency evacuation if there is a fire. Please keep this entrance open for the safety of local residents.

We have lived in Roughdown Avenue since 1994 and have always had access through the station. It is a ridiculously and dangerous too have to walk all the way round particularly when it is dark and winter time
