We are asking our schools to get rid of GoGuardian and protect students from constant monitoring and unnecessary blocking. GoGuardian gets in the way of learning and makes school devices feel less like tools for education and more like a way to watch every move students make.
It blocks games and websites, and it can even block some educational websites that students need for classwork and research. That means students may lose access to helpful resources just because they are using a school device. It should be easier to learn, not harder.
GoGuardian also allows teachers and staff to view whatever is on our screens at all times. That kind of constant watching creates stress and takes away students’ sense of privacy, even when they are just trying to work, read, or take notes. Schools should support students, not make them feel watched every moment.
It also allows teachers and staff to lock our screens, as shown in the photo. When that happens, students can be stopped from finishing work, checking instructions, or moving ahead with class tasks. This can disrupt learning instead of helping it.
We believe schools should use technology in a fair, respectful way that supports education without over-blocking or over-monitoring students. Please help our schools get rid of GoGuardian and choose a better approach for everyone.
