A large number of students have already expressed discomfort with Blocksi. The app restricts websites it deems inapporopriate, but due to its excessive use of ai it often takes away access from websites we may require. From example, it restricts several YouTube videos that we need to continue our education and the 'request access' is simply a superficial formality, and the teachers don't actually take our concerns seriously. Also, banning websites such as Pinterest and Spotify (which don't really distract people) is another flaw of ai, as it does nothing for cybersafety which Blocksi is supposedly built on. The most important issue is that the restriction still applies OUT of school. It's basically an extreme breach of privacy as they can see what we do out of school, control it and not let us visit websites we might need to in our private time. Some students don't have enough money to afford a secondary device for entertainment (or basically anything) and enforcing these rules on private devices is a huge no. That's why this petition asks for the Blocksi extension to only be valid for school hours, and be less restrictive of things that don't require blockage.
