Nellie Gail has, from its very beginning, been animal friendly. Have we become so snooty that we can’t accept chain link fencing that provides maximum protection for this little herd from predators ?

Nellie Gail Ranch is an equestrian first community. If the HOA can't control the coyote population, resident should be able to defer to a cost effective solution to protect livestock. I just got an email regarding this, and the whole claim about property values is absolute hogwash. The job of the HOA is to support homeowners, their children, pets and livestock. I've examined the fence, and any person who sees it a negative mark on Nellie Gail, picked the wrong "ranch." Go to Laguna Niguel

I hike by this property often and always enjoy seeing their goats. I honestly hadn’t noticed the fence extension because it’s above eye level. Since the property isn’t visible from the street, I don’t believe it impacts the neighborhood.
Given that they have reportedly lost several goats to coyotes, the fence extension seems like a reasonable safety measure. I’d rather not see our HOA spend time and money pursuing something this minor, especially if it could raise HOA costs for everyone.

Spending all this time and energy and money for legal counsel by an HOA to force long time homeowners to give up their pets is such a waste for the community and a cruel action against the homeowners. The higher fence will save the goats lives and does not harm other’s peace and enjoyment of the community.

Save the goats! Please enforce HOA laws regarding people’s front yards and their homes. This neighborhood has gotten extremely shabby in certain areas. Allowing 7+ cars in a driveway looks bad. Allowing owners to keep their trash cans at the street for weeks at a time. Ridiculous. Please focus on important things. This fence is only visible from a trail and the coyotes are eating the goats
