People should be able to protect their animals. This HOA made it take down our chicken coop a couple years ago because the neighbor across from the horse trail didn’t like it. When we tried to fight them they were going to take is to court.

Homeowners associations are there to protect the residents. Suing a homeowner for trying to protect their beloved pets with a fence extension that can’t even be seen is completely ridiculous.

I enjoy seeing the goats on my walk and I also know how many times I’ve seen coyotes in my property and jumping over fences. I personally have a 6 foot fence around my house and it’s nothing for them to jump that.

I’m here to support not only for the family that has lived & supported this area for many years but also for their love, hard work to protect ( that’s not seen by a fancy house / road to protect what they love. ? What if this was for children playing in their backyard ? Would we still be having this issue ( just asking ) a parent protecting what they love is no deference ( child / animals .

Why is the HOA suing an original resident of Nellie Gail for protecting their pets, with a fence that is unseen by neighbors? What a waste of HOA dues that we pay. Shouldn’t our HOA dues go towards protecting the people who pay it and not against? We have multiple robberies that aren’t addressed…let’s spend some money towards that. This lawsuit is nonsense and a waste of our dues. So unfortunate!!!

I am in support of common sense and am opposed to egotistical HOA over reach. I live in Laguna Hills and the residents of Nellie Gail are my neighbors. I also support and personally know some of our City Council leaders, and some of them also live in Nellie Gail. I doubt they would support this type of HOA action either. So disappointing when HOAs choose to do this.

The HOA should be concerned with the safety of its residents, their pets & homes. Coyotes are an ongoing threat to everyone & something needs to be done to control their population.

The HOA initiated lawsuit seems misguided and likely to set an unwelcome precedent - insisting on following a technicality at the expense of common sensibilities. The fence serves a purpose that benefits the community through humane protection of goats, without inconveniencing or otherwise hurting the community members. Why is HOA creating a tempest in a teacup?

We are also dealing with our HOA. It's not the management company that acts on its own, it's the our own board that walks around with a camera looking for any infraction.

Hoa always think they are and above the laws and are petty about things that are irrelevant but then don’t care about real issues that really matter. They take things too far. Between the comment about solar panels to this not ok and we need to stand in solidarity with each other that have been here for many many years and grew up here!

We live in an equestrian community where many of the residents have animals like llamas, goats, etc. and the home owners should be able to protect them from predators. The HOA told us to put trees to cover our solar panels so the riders on the horse trail didn’t have to look at them. My husband said “you do know how solar panels work, don’t you? They finally relented and approved our solar panels.
Are neighbors complaining about the fence? I really don’t understand this. Good luck!!

It seems the HOA is trying to take advantage of a desperate situation to save animals and make an example out of original homeowners because they did not go to the board first for an extension to an already approved fence. It is punitive, not in the best interest of the community, and a waste of money.
