Petition: Petition to Bishop Fyfe to reverse her decision to terminate Fr. Jordan Draper’s incumbency without cause and to install him as rector.

Petition written by: Heidi Fewster

Petition distributed to: Members of the Parish of Annapolis

Rationale: Fr. Jordan Draper is a priest in good standing in the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. His dismissal without just cause and due process is unfair to him and to the parish.

Update on the Petition

Dear Friends in Christ, I am pleased to share that there were 35 physical signatures presented to the Bishop this evening, with an additional 6 physical signatures which came in shortly after the meeting concluded. I'm looking at these online signatures, and from what I can tell, only two of them can count as original signatures towards the total 41 physical signatures. Please do not sign this if you are not a parishioner, and if you already signed the physical petition, you are graciously and kindly invited to remove your signature so we can have a clean record of of support for this peaceful petition. There is no doubt that this has been a peaceful petition, offered in Christian joy. Yours in Christ, Heidi

Jordan is on a quest to saintly living with others who are also on that quest. He is devote and sincere. He has invested his life in his calling. I feel his preaching and teaching is to a level most don't reach in the sermons preached. He came to St. Lukes he said because if the Bishop and parishioners were unanimously in their decision to call him here he would not refuse the calling. I would think that there would be some responsibility on the part of that vetting leadership .

This dismissal has been done without thought for the will of the parishioners. Father Draper is a good, kind and caring man and deserves better from a church he serves so well.

We are disturbed to find out that Fr Draper was dismissed without any consultation with the Parishioners. We would like to know the reasons why a wonderful, dedicated good man with a true faith who has been doing so much good work in the Parish was summarily dismissed. We petition that he should be reinstated to his position as Parish Priest at St Pauls
