I grew up living in a house on Strawplains Pike, my Mom still lives there, and has for 30+ years. The house sits very close to the road. traffic going up and down the road is constant, loud, heavy & fast. It’s dangerous just trying to back out of it. I work in West Knoxville so I’m very familiar with scary drivers! I live in East Knoxville by choice and don’t want it to become West Knoxville. We already have too many cookie cutter subdivisions. We need our farm lands and some common sense!

Please stop further development of our area. This location is right next to a family cemetery, which should be protected as a peaceful resting place for that family’s ancestors. It’s also across from the elementary school, where traffic is already an issue. Strawberry Plains Pike is overloaded. Please respect our community’s identity and stop turning our rural peace into an overpopulated area.

RC and HP zonings are placed on properties for very specific reasons. To reverse these zonings is to ignore the conditions that exist and negates the rationale for these types of protections. It makes no sense for the property or the community to allow dense housing in this area.

We don’t need houses built near Mccubbins family cemetery. Plus to close to school cause more traffic.

This rezoning is not wanted or needed in this area. We have already seen lots of growth in the area, making traffic horrible. Our roads cannot support this growth at this time. Check the traffic study done last year. 6800 cars on Strawberry Plains Pike each day already. Way too much for a two lane road. Please vote no on this rezoning.

Excessive building and not nearly enough infrastrucure to hold this and future developments. Locals are being priced out just to cater to the people moving here! We are being ignored and punished for your actions.

This is right across from my farm.
I moved here 10 years to get away from all the subdivision and traffic.
In last 5 years there has been 5 new subdivision built near my home.
We are destroying what makes East Knoxville special.

Iv lived here all my life and you can’t drive down a road or highway hardly anymore without seeing a rezoning sign you say growth is good but all you are doing is driving the cost of living up there is no local jobs that most people here have relied on to make a living paying what it cost to live here anymore it doesn’t feel like home you are stripping every open piece of land away for housing and not putting a penny towards the infrastructure your ruining the carter community

Slow down with all these approvals for rezoning. This one is a bad request. Too many things against this one with that TVA easement, wetlands and hillside protection. Its a nightmare on paper and worse to look at it from Strawberry Plains Pike. Right in the middle of an old neighborhood and would destroy the whole character there. Just a shame to imagine it happening to those folks. Greedy uncaring money hungry developers.

This area has major traffic, school capacity, infrastructure, and quality of life concerns yet this rezoning is being considered as if our objections are background noise. The Carter Community residents are being treated like an obstacle to be managed by the MPC. We are the people who live with the consequences after the developers leave. These greedy developers won't stop until there isn't a single patch of woods left. Stop giving them blank checks to do whatever they want to us.

There has been far too many rezonings in the Carter Community lately. No infrastructure to support it. Please slow down and realize that when the Agriculture land is gone it is gone. Subdivisions can go anywhere but when they are allowed to go right in the neighborhoods they destroy the peace and property value. It is unfair to do that to the people that look to you for protection. Protect the people from the greed of the developers that are swooping in to make profit off everyone they can.

Don't do this to that community. They can't keep taking on thousands more people pouring onto their roads and into their schools.
