We, the undersigned residents, football clubs, players, coaches, parents, supporters, and stakeholders of Mafeteng District, respectfully petition the relevant authorities to prioritize the development and upgrading of safe, accessible, and well-maintained football grounds across our district.
Football is more than a sport—it is a powerful tool for youth development, education, health, social inclusion, crime prevention, and economic opportunity. However, the severe shortage of quality football facilities in Mafeteng has become a major obstacle to the growth of the game and the development of young talent. Many teams are forced to share limited grounds, travel long distances for matches and training, or play on unsafe and poorly maintained fields.
We therefore call upon the Government of Lesotho, Mafeteng District Council, local authorities, the Lesotho Football Association, development partners, and private stakeholders to work together to:
Construct new football grounds in underserved communities.
Upgrade existing playing fields to meet acceptable safety and competition standards.
Ensure regular maintenance of football facilities.
Promote equal access to quality football grounds for children, youth, women, and community clubs.
Investing in football infrastructure is an investment in the future of our young people and the development of Mafeteng. We believe that every community deserves safe and adequate facilities where players can train, compete, and realize their full potential.
By signing this petition, we express our collective support for urgent action to address the shortage of football grounds in Mafeteng and to create a better sporting environment for present and future generations.
Together, we can build a stronger future for football in Mafeteng. :::
