New Owner: Higher Praise Tabernacle church (Spirit-filled Apostolic and Pentecostal) – Pastor Kenneth Morrell
Please join us on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 7:00pm at the Newton County Historic Courthouse Boardroom to oppose this permit and building.
Important considerations:
• Increased traffic, congestion, noise, and lights — they meet at least 4 times per week, not including numerous special events.
• This could potentially increase surrounding residents’ property taxes. $$$
• This is the church’s third location/move in approximately 15 years. What happens when the current pastor retires and/or they sell this location?
• This is a rural area with mostly homes, lots of farming, and hunting. Residents are here to enjoy peace and quiet away from city and businesses. If we don’t oppose, what will be next?

Do not want this land over developed like the rest of Newton County. Too close to home.

Because of traffic and public notice sometimes I have to set at stop sign for 6 to 10 cars go by we don't need another 50 to 100 cars going by our road making it that much harder to get on Henderson mill to get to town or Doctor Appointments.

Because of traffic and public notice sometimes I have to set at stop sign for 6 to 10 cars go by we don't need another 50 to 100 cars going by our road making it that much harder to get on Henderson mill to get to town or Doctor Appointments.
