To have a golden, once-in-a-generation opportunity to remove Manresa's smokestack/power buildings—whose brutal scale has dominated our coastline for 66 years and poisoned our air and waterways with mercury, arsenic, lead, a direct oil spill, and more—and opt NOT to take it down would be an unbelievably foolish mistake. Let's help the McChords plant their feet back firmly on the ground and do the right thing: scale this project back and spend the money to remove this generational eyesore!

This current plan is incredibly disruptive to the environment and surrounding communities. We are very concerned there is no infrastructure to address the amount of traffic increase all around South Norwalk and into our private community Village Creek.

Norwalk already floods on Water Street and under the East Ave bridge; our roads can't absorb resort-scale traffic through one shared entrance that's also our only way out in an emergency. Site work has already harmed the island's protected wildlife. This is becoming a commercial resort, not a public park. Please sign.

The proposed development aspects outlined in the zoning change will bring massive traffic throughout Norwalk. Regional development does not necessarily benefit Norwalk, but could put burden on taxpayers. Loud noise and lights will negatively impact wildlife. Keep it small. Keep it simple. Keep it about Norwalk.

The traffic alone in this overdeveloped part of Connecticut would dictate that the revised plan is totally misguided. "Manresa Wilds" should go with the original plan and be a park for the people with minimal development.

The City of Norwalk needs to be careful and make sure our streets and infrastructure are able to accommodate one more car down that narrow corridor of Woodward Ave. Don't approve any special permits without first making sure proper transportation routes are in place first. Eyes wide open!!!
