The Blue Mountains is a unique and precious place. People visit for it's scenic beauty and aesthetics. Brash fast food chain restaurants have no place in this wondrous place. Please do not approve this disastrous application.

Local businesses should remain in regional(ish) areas. Corporate level businesses can stay in the city

The upper Blue Mountains needs to maintain its culture and difference from the rest of Sydney. Once you introduce fast food you are taking away something special and making it like everywhere else.

The blue mountains is a special place that supports local business and culture. Let’s not be like every other suburb

Local shops have plenty of healthy food options. Support local businesses. And, BM doesn’t need the mindless littering that seems to occur all too frequently from Maccas customers. Keep the character of the Blue Mountains and support local businesses, not multinational corporations. There’s a Maccas not far away in Blaxland, we don’t need another

The upper blue mountains community is health conscious and environmentally conscious and our towns are quaint and cute. A big drive through fast food venue would be totally against the culture and values of the people who visit and live in the area. It is also an eyesore, and would create waste and rubbish.

A fast food outlet on the verge of world heritage national park is an environmental blight. There are beautiful small food outlets in the town with pleanty of choice. Positioning the outlet on a main road with sporting venues and schools in walking distance is going to be alluring for kids and families and shitty for local businesses and eventually shitty for consumer’s health

This is an inappropriate development for that location given the local traffic and village business situation and the trash situation that always accompanies fast food outlets.

I'm signing because our kids deserve a food environment that is healthy. MacDonalds is a public health problem that we all pay for. I am also aware of the research that shows increased rubbish and environment risk introduced when McDonalds enters residential areas and this is not acceptable in a world heritdge area with a sensitive eco system we have spent decades trying to restore.

Completely inappropriate at every level. Fast food is nutritionally negative and should be banned completely. That is quite separate from problems with the location, traffic, environmental pressures, tourist value.

As the Principal of Blue Mountains Grammar School, a school situated in this beautiful World Heritage-listed area I see no reason for this development. We have a unique environment and street scape that rather than remaining unique will be denigrated in way that will impact the Blue Mountains for decades to come. As adults we have a responsibility to model care for environment culture and futures to our children - this seems an easy application to decline.

I just moved from QLD to the Blue Mountains 6 months ago, to get away from the madness of the city. MacDonald's is an eyesore on the beautiful landscape of the mountains. If the mountains begins to look like everywhere else why come here?
