KEEP FRENCH STREET CLOSED TO THROUGH TRAFFIC

We have been coming to Coral Bay for 22 years when our children were small and now our grandchildren are coming. CB is a safe and joyful destination to visit. Absolutely no need to open French St, in fact it would be negligent, completely irresponsible and unsafe to open this street. Just as irresponsible to allow the old pub on the hill to be rebuilt in such an ugly imposing prison looking building that does not fit in with the existing nature nor buildings in any way.

I question whether reopening the road is the best use of funds, particularly given it runs through a caravan park & is directly adjacent to the playground & swimming pool. There are huge safety issues for children, elderly and the whole community in opening the road. Invest in a footpath & cycleway connecting town with the boat ramp, improving pedestrian & cycling access could save lives!! Opening French St is unnecessary at best.

I am a long term visitor and one of the Coral Bay's attractions is the ability to walk or ride every where safely. Opening French Street would be absolute caos and dangerous especially in School Holidays where the kids are running from Old Bayview to the Pool, Bouncy Mat or the Playground. I can not see any positive benefit in this stupid idea.

As a person with significant phyiscal disability, crossing roads can pose a significant threat of falls. Currently I am able to cross the road in Coral Bay unaided however with additional vehicles using the road would increase the risk to my safety.

Please leave Coral Bay as it is for future generations- There’s already been enough changes - no more

My children have grown up riding around Coral Bay and learnt to ride their bikes there. It is one of the only places left where parents can let their kids 'roam free' without being overly conscious of idiot drivers. Dont let the younger generations miss out on this.

I struggle to understand why it's necessary. We don't need it. Money could be better spent elsewhere

There is no logical reason to open French street through the middle if a busy caravan park. It takes 1 minute to drive around and serves no purpose other than to increase the risk of a child being hit by a car

We have young children and we frequent the place. We adore that it is nice and quiet and safe for them! Please don’t ruin this gorgeous place!!

I’m an ex CB local, nurse and a SJA volunteer. I have seen personally so many close calls. This will end in a child fatality.

Spend the money on a cycle /footpath to the boat ramp from town . We all Currently walk along the road . We do not need a road though the cvp’s . Thinks of the kids

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Appeasing the new resort. That can walk through as it is now or drive the 500m to go round. Keep the kids safe, use some logic for Christ sake.
