A counter petition to keep clairmont speed limit at 50km/h.
Do you agree we should not waste tax dollars and time with our family's by lowering the speed limit?.
Simple math shows the few incidents that occur do not over come the amount of traffic clairmont receives.
Incidents that occured inside the school zone or parking lot are already governed by a lower speed limit and would not be prevented by lowering speed.
Incidents that occured inside the playground zones or intersections are already governed by lower speed or yeiled laws and would not be prevented by lowering speed limit.
Wembly and sexsmith do not work for safety examples because peace officers setup camp there near daily.
Clairmont peace officers always spend there time out on Costco road or over by the overpass. Which is both inside "clairmont". Hamlet is bigger then you think. Core of the issue. No enforcement.

30kmh is a school zone the whole town doesnt need to be that its moronic and its not the 50kmh that matters its the young kids that need better driver training instead of lowering speed limits make a better more accessible drivers ed through the high schools
Keep it at 50 for main roads unless the signage otherwise posted for school zones/ parks say 30km

Lowering the limit will change nothing. Teach kids road safety it will serve them better.

Main roads should remain 50km, park and school zones should remain 30km. The speed limit isn’t the problem in Clairmont, it’s the lack of street smarts (for kids and young drivers) and honestly changing the speed limit will not slow people down
