Decision Makers: John St. Augustine

We are asking for a well-made, respectful biopic and/or documentary about John Denver, and we believe John St. Augustine is the right person to help make that happen. John Denver’s life deserves to be told with care, honesty, and the kind of attention that reflects how deeply he touched music and the lives of so many people.  Mr. St. Augustine, your podcasts are extremely inspirational. This would be a fitting thank you to JD for encouraging you to speak your mind and have the courage to move forward in life by telling your truths. We believe you understand the spirit of John Denver’s work and could help bring this story to life in a way that feels true to him.

John Denver was a voice that defined a generation, and his music still reaches people across ages and backgrounds. He inspired millions not only through his songs, but through the warmth, hope, and love for the planet and all life that came through in his work. A thoughtful film could do more than celebrate his best-known songs and some of his lesser known ones. It could show the full scope of his life, his music, and the legacy he left behind.

The recent surge in popularity of “Country Roads” shows just how much John Denver still means to old fans and new ones alike. That renewed interest makes this the perfect moment for someone in the entertainment business, and/or with solid connections, who truly appreciates his work to bring this project to life.

This also feels urgent because John’s original fans and contemporaries are getting older, and many are sadly dying. If we wait too long, many of the people who know his life and work best may no longer be here to see his story told properly. We believe his fans, both new and old, deserve to see his life and legacy celebrated in a truthful, respectful, and entertaining way. A great film would do justice to John Denver, preserve his story for future generations, and welcome the many younger fans who will carry his legacy forward.

I have been a huge John Denver fan since I first heard his music in 1973. His passing has been a big loss for all of us who love him, his music and his commitment to making the world a better place and bringing people together. There will never be another John Denver.

It’s time to see a real documentary about John Denver without sensationalism or straight up fabrications.

Not many people are aware of his incredible life story. From his philanthropy to his environmental achievements etc. Let alone his deep-cut songs and his amazing guitar skills.

It’s About Time! Let him have the respect he always gave his audiences. This suggestion/ petition needs to be accomplished before so many of his admirers die so we know to suggest one to all we know before that time comes. Too many have already died and It’s About Time!

He was a complicated man, and, at times, conflicted. However, he never stopped caring about family, friends, love, the environment, the eradication of hunger, and PEACE on this planet. He was a citizen of the world. At this time, in Earth's history, his philosophies have never been more important. He has/had the ability to inspire people to be better than they might have been inclined to be. He inspired kindness and generosity. More people need to hear this message.

Time is of the essence to include reflections and stories from the people who were close to John while they are still living. The worldwide impact of John’s music, humanitarian advocacy, and environmental work is immeasurable. This could be augmented and expanded currently and into the future with a quality biopic/documentary. The surge in the popularity of “Take Me Home, Country Roads” and biopics make this the perfect time to capitalize on these trends and preserve and enhance John’s legacy.

I second the words from others who love John Denver's music and positive work. John Denver gave us so much through his music, and he was an environmental activist; we learned a lot from his words and actions. I learned to love and respect nature even more when I discovered his music and work. His songs and music evoke deep, beautiful emotions of family love, friendship, harmony, love for nature, inner peace, and more. It would be awesome to keep his legacy alive for future generations.
