GBVF Prevention Education COMPULSORY (Primary to University)
The Gender Based Violence national disaster has taken hold of South Africa, with 569 women killed from April to June 2026.
Life Orientation (L.O) is a subject in South African schools that should focus on the holistic personal, social, intellectual, and physical development of learners.
This petition intends a change to the LifeOrientation curriculum in South African Public and Private schools - making GBV a more substantial, recurring, structured and prevention-focussed topic.
It also intends to make education on the topic COMPULSORY in all South African registered Universities.
GBV education must be practical, preventative, and progressive across grades. It should teach healthy relationships, clear consent, communication, anger management, bystander intervention, and digital safety. Lessons should use realistic scenarios, not just theory, and build year on year to prevent harm before it occurs.

It could help with curbing femicide by instilling honourable principles in men primarily as well as in women. Overall shedding light on the harsh reality people live and possibly enabling a better,safer society for the afflicted.
I am signing as a mother of boys. I love my sons, and I do not want to raise future headlines. I want to raise protectors, not perpetrators
I was harassed on campus by a male student and when confronted was not remorseful.
I’m woman I’m terrified, not just for me but for my sisters, my mother and other woman out there Young man need this education, and I say that as a boy mom
Cause these women are dying
I want the killing of women to stop.
Enough is enough!
