Faculty want real input on Berrie Center space use
This petition is a request from the faculty, undersigned, that the administration seek and take seriously the faculty input on the future disposition of the former office spaces on the second floor of the Berrie Center.
This building is showing its age, and its failings. Rather than a vital campus hub for creativity and community, it is quiet, cramped and inhospitable to student socializing and self-expression. The current "lounge" is not a hospitable or functional space. In addition, ARTS faculty are severely constrained in terms of facilities for various arts programming.
We therefore ask that the future disposition of these spaces be discussed with faculty, and that we prioritize pedagogical priorities and/or student experience.

Another major need is for music spaces. Ramapo has no single space that is designed and dedicated for music performances, and has only one classroom (BC-308) appropriate for rehearsing/practicing/teaching drum-based music, and its use is limited due to sound bleed.
