TO: Major Joshua Wendell, Article #32 Hearing Officer, US vs Maj. Jason Watson
FR: Petition by Concerned Citizens and Veterans
Sir, Major Watson is a man of courage, acted within military law and federal law.
You have been given a very difficult assignment.  You decision may ruin your own career and or his.
Many of us who sign this petition are former military members (enlisted, noncoms and officers), military family members, and citizens concerned with justice in a time of many injustices.
We urge:
1.  The Air Force accept Maj. Watson's request to resign from the service;
2.  He be discharged from service with honorable discharge with full benefits immediately; and
3.  All charges be dropped and erased from his record.
FACT:  Maj. Watson Spoke Truth to Power.  Such actions many times result in retaliation, revenge and sometimes death.
He stated on July 1, 2026 at the __ press conference in front of the U.S. Capital in Washington, D.C. these words:
“For the past 18 months, we the people have allowed the highest levels of the executive branch of the federal government to violate our Constitution and their oath to it with impunity.
When the President of the United States orders military action against foreign countries absent an emergency scenario where American interests are under imminent, dire threat—as was done with Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran—that is an unconstitutional usurpation of Congress’s authority and a violation of the War Powers Clause. …
For this, the President and Vice President must be impeached, convicted, and removed.”
FACT:  Our US military has for decades conducted illegal wars.  Many of us served during the Vietnam Era - a massive illegal war, massive human, environmental, dollar and societal costs.
FACTS: From Jan. 20, 2025 thru Dec. 31, 2025 the following has occurred.
"Since taking office on Jan. 20, 2025, Trump has overseen at least 626 air strikes, according to data compiled by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project that was shared with Military Times." Source: “A year of strikes: US military operations surge under Trump” 12-31-25
The 10 nations and areas attacked are: Somalia, Iraq, Yemen, Iran, Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific Ocean, Syria, Nigeria, Venezuela plus support equipment and targeting support to the Russian Ukrainian war and, as the United Nations concludes the Israeli Genocide in Gaza.
CONCLUSION:  Air Force Major Jason Watson is correct in his statements.
As a military officer he is required to NOT follow illegal orders or to participate in illegal actions.  His actions in publicly calling for the impeachment of Pres. Trump are legally and morally correct.
Since Major Watson's press conference and later TV interview, nearly 2.6 million people have viewed "YouTube" type videos discussing his actions.
POINT: There is much public interest in Watson's case. Public opinion polls show a majority of voters believe Mr. Trump should be impeached.
POINT: We understand that Maj. Watson has been kept in solitary confinement since his arrest.  The public is not aware of this.
Few of these people know that the Major has been in solidarity confinement which appears to many of us to be done under the illegal concept of "guilty until proven innocent."
The holding of Major Watson in solitary confinement raises a number of issues r under the subject of pretrial detention, the Eighth Amendment and the Bail Reform Act of 1984.
POINT: With 2.1 million members in our military including reserves and guard units many serving rotations overseas and in dangerous areas there is a morale issue and a moral issue.  For those men and woman who are involved in the killing units on the ground, air and in the sea or under the sea, it is important to individual and family that the killing when done is legal and for valid legal reasons. Illegal war/confict/killing makes the killing greatly more questionable to the individual and family members which can results in significant problems from PTSD to suicide.
Thus Major Jason Watson is in our opinion right in speaking truth to power.
Frankly, it is far better for the military to be looked upon as being fair than it is to have the military raked over the coals by the media, former military members, activists and high-ranking elected officials asking why thousands more enlisted personnel and officers are NOT obeying their oath to the Constitution, the laws of our Nation and treaties signed which PROHIBIT our military members, military and Nation starting illegal wars and aiding in genocidal operations.
But if our military mis-handles Major Watson's situation, we will work together to organize Congressional action in an effort to protect Major Watson from harm.
We hope, Major Wendell, we will be notified that the military has made a wise choice for the future of both Major Watson and America.
Peace!

As am enlisted man in the Vietnam War, all we wanted from our officer corps was for them to follow the law and support those of us who take orders from them. Major Watson has done both, I would have been proud to have served under him.

This brave young man remembered what he swore an oath to do: To serve his country and defend "against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic"! I spent 20 years in this man's Army and I say anyone who made it to Major in rank obviously has his stuff together. He was doing what any brave member would do against a fascist dictator. Please allow him to receive his full benefits if he is made to leave the US Air Force. He is a true HERO!

Because this man was doing the only honorable thing to do in these circumstances. People seem very confused. The military is there to protect US, the people, not a president or political party. In their oath which they take to defend the Constitution, it tells them to refuse unlawful orders. The majority of things being done by this president are unconstitutional.

Because our country has been stolen by an organized crime syndicate run by billionaire psychopaths pulling the strings of power.

If we don't STAND UP and SPEAK OUT for good people, Who will be around to speak up for US?

For those of us who understand our first commitment is to the Constitution, it takes great courage to stand up and confront those trying to destroy it. This is a real Patriot!
