You may also want to look at https://zoning.building club.info/Kansas/olathe It appears to me, the "planners" have been busy creating and passing documents that "guide" (possibly provide ‘cover’ for council members ignoring the people standing in front of them) votes to change and approve all these "developments". Based on what I’ve read, Olathe is probably considered to have TOO MUCH single family residences and not enough mixed housing types plus being combined with nonresidential uses.

I agree with this petition. Additionally, as a person who crosses the roundabout from our neighborhood into Heritage Park I am gravely concerned about the safety. It is already an extremely dangerous crossing, and I have almost been hit several times because people don’t see the lit signs until they are already through them. It is extremely dangerous and someone is going to get badly hurt or killed.

Our current infrastructure cannot support this build.

Loss of green space and community character, increased traffic congestion, safety concerns (gas line)

The current roads will not support this traffic. The roundabout at 159th and Pflumm already backs up to the north sometime 1/2 mile at the end of the day.

Opposed to high density development in this area.

The proposed development would have a significant impact on the quality of life for residents in the surrounding neighborhoods. Hundreds of additional vehicles would mean increased traffic, congestion, noise, and potential safety concerns. In addition, the construction of seven four-story buildings would dramatically change the character and appearance of the area, replacing the open farmland and unobstructed views that neighboring residents have enjoyed for more than 25 years.

Our family has lived in both The Reserve at Heritage and Nottingham at Heritage Park neighborhoods since 2003. Part of the appeal of living in this area are the open spaces. We’ve seen a lot of growth in the area during the past 23 years, and the current infrastructure barely supports the amount of vehicles and foot traffic between the green space and Heritage Park as it currently stands. Adding an apartment complex to 159th and Pflumm will exacerbate the already dangerous & busy intersection.

Oppose this proposed development plan.

To preserve the green space and due to significant concerns about infrastructure, especially due to Pflumm being only two lanes without shoulders.

The area has grown so much and there is already over population in this corner and it’s still growing. It feels like extremely poor planning and greediness. Enough already.

As a resident in the area this project will negatively impact the traffic, property values, and immediately more than double the community size.

Our neighborhoods and roads cannot hold this additional traffic.

Creates significant risk associated with increased traffic and architecture density issues. And will take away from qualities of the surrounding neighborhoods.

This is an already very congested area for traffic and would not be suitable for the safety of all.

Open space is important for us to keep. Additionally, I do not want an apartment complex nearby adding to traffic congestion.

I oppose the proposed R4 apartment complex near Heritage Park because I don’t think a high-density development is a good fit for this location. I’m concerned about the extra traffic and congestion, the strain on local infrastructure, safety, and the effect on the character of the surrounding neighborhoods and Heritage Park. I support responsible growth, but I think development here should fit in with the community rather than overwhelm it.
