I’ve lived in building A on the 3rd floor for going on 3 years now. I’ve constantly had water pressure and heating problems, that seem to never get fixed or stay fixed. My AC also goes out and it’s even happened when I was living here over the summer. They need to fix these buildings if they are going to be charging this much.

The people at chamisa are being charged way too much to not have hot water right now. It ridiculous that theyre being charged full price for less than full accommodation. There were a plethora of other issues when they initially moved in as well that have also not been reimbursed.

The amount of tuition we pay for our students to go to school, they deserve clean housing, working utilities, and hot water. Their basic needs are not being met on a regular basis and NMSU needs to do better.

This is my daughter‘s well-being being attacked in real-time. Why doesn’t she have adequate water utility?

This is ridiculous that this issue with the hot water has been going on for so long. We pay a pretty penny to live at chamisa, and hot water is a basic utility. The university should at least make a good-will effort of some sort.

I pay a lot and take out loans that I pay my self to live in on campus housing. The water situation has been awful and disruptive of my daily routines and lively hood . Along with that, the laundry situation has been a nightmare. Machines are constantly broken leaving me and other residents with no way to dry our clothes since there is usually only 1-3 working dryers. We don’t even get bare minimum necessities when we pay around 6000 a semester.

I have a child at Chamisa and demand better living conditions. Basic necessity of water is all I ask! Come on! Do better NMSU HOUSING!

My daughter has been dealing not only with ongoing water issues, but also with no air conditioning for MONTHS. This is unacceptable. There has been no sense of urgency from NMSU in addressing these basic living conditions, yet the bill for payment arrived right on time.
My daughter should not be expected to pay for housing while enduring months without basic necessities. NMSU needs to address these issues with the same urgency it expects from students and families when payment is due.
