I care about the hot water because it’s a basic necessity, especially for students who are paying to live here and should be able to rely on the essential services provided. It’s frustrating to deal with issues like this while also having the AC constantly go on and off. We shouldn’t have to worry about whether we’ll have hot water or whether our AC will actually work when we need it. These are basic living conditions, and I think the residents of Chamisa Village deserve better maintenance.

Unacceptable to have students without consistent water temperature/pressure.

I find it unfair that us students have had to deal with this for over two months already.

Haven’t had AC since May of last semester (2026). I come back from summer break, not only do I still not have A/C, I don’t have hot water, or water pressure since moving back at the beginning of the semester. It’s now October… That’s not including the leak maintenance fixes over summer in my shower, but didn’t bother to paint or cover the patches to the fix. Going this long without hot water is unsanitary, especially when it comes to cleaning dishes.

No AC or Heat since August 2025 now water issue. This is getting out of hand. Our young adults live on campus to make life a little easier on them and this school is making it harder. These issues need to be addressed.

This is ridiculous, how much we have to pay for on campus housing and we can’t even get basic human needs like hot water. We also have a had no ac the whole semester and after 7 work orders they came and looked at it to find that there wasn’t even an air compressor, meaning there was no way for the ac to work. This is very unacceptable and unprofessional.

We should not be paying this much for housing that isn't providing basic amenities.

My daughter has gone without hot water and no air conditioning since the beginning of school. None of housing knows what’s going on and everyone just keeps pointing fingers at each other. Why are we expected to pay for a not working apartment? Basic amenities are not even being provided!! This is ridiculous!

As a parent & aunt of NMSU students living in campus housing, I'm deeply concerned about the conditions my daughter/niece & fellow residents are facing. The AC unit hasn’t worked since Aug. 2025 for my niece & since Aug. 2026 for my daughter. Students/families pay significant costs for housing & expect it to be safe & properly maintained. I urge NMSU Facilities & Maintenance to fix ac units & hot water immediately, provide clear timeline for repairs, & offer financial compensation!

This is the second week of fluctuating water stability, and probably the second month without hot water. Not to mention all the other issues. These repairs should have be taken care of the summer. On top of that they are asking us to pay 10k a year, when essential utilities and required safety regulations aren't being met.

NMSU has consistently not provided amenities that have been promised to those that pay for them in housing. This being a lack of water or conditioning. NMSU has also had prior knowledge to these issues before move in weekend and made no attempt to fix it until they faced severe scrutiny
