I’m a student and I work for nmsu, this is ridiculous and unethical for students to be without basic needs.

Not only is the water situation unacceptable but now the air conditioning system is not working. We pay a lot of money for housing. This is absolutely unacceptable…

Although I may not live at Chamisa, I actually live at VDM, I want my peers and friends living at Chamisa to have the same quality of life as me at VDM. This is unfair from the university.

My friends live in Chamisa and they have dealt with unnecessary health problems, worsening existing conditions, and unneeded stress that is preventing them from enjoying and being successful in their college experience. This is ridiculous and as students we deserve better from our university.

By statute landlords must provide water to their tenants. Students have not had working hot water since moving in this semester. This has gone on for way too long. Get this fixed now and compensate students for lack of services these last 2 months.

This is important to me because as a resident myself having to make other plans to shower is unsafe and inconvenient to me.

My apartment hasn’t had working AC since August (last month I was sick with strep for 3 weeks with no AC help regardless of extremely hot temperatures) and our water is currently like taking an ice bath. This is very disappointing…

we should not be having to find somewhere else to shower when we live here and it should be accessible to us.

I’m sick and tired of maintenance saying that the issue is going to be resolved soon almost everyday and yet nothing has been done about it. It’s been a problem since the summer time. But now they are barely “starting” to fix this problem.

I have been taking ice cold showers for half the semester with multiple water outages. Our Ac just broke. Every-time they say they fix something it doesn’t happen. It’s ridiculous paying 4000 for barely livable conditions. Yesterday my room got to 80 degrees inside.

I care about the hot water because it’s a basic necessity, especially for students who are paying to live here and should be able to rely on the essential services provided. It’s frustrating to deal with issues like this while also having the AC constantly go on and off. We shouldn’t have to worry about whether we’ll have hot water or whether our AC will actually work when we need it. These are basic living conditions, and I think the residents of Chamisa Village deserve better maintenance.

Haven’t had AC since May of last semester (2026). I come back from summer break, not only do I still not have A/C, I don’t have hot water, or water pressure since moving back at the beginning of the semester. It’s now October… That’s not including the leak maintenance fixes over summer in my shower, but didn’t bother to paint or cover the patches to the fix. Going this long without hot water is unsanitary, especially when it comes to cleaning dishes.
